Arteriosclerosis detection is a non-invasive, painless and rapid detection method. It can assess the degree of arteriosclerosis and vascular resistance throughout the body by measuring blood pressure and pulse wave velocity in the limbs, thereby judging the health status of the blood vessels. It features high sensitivity, high reliability and repeatability, and can be used for the early diagnosis of systemic arteriosclerosis. It plays a very important role in the early detection of lower extremity arterial stenosis and the early detection and treatment of peripheral vascular diseases.
Physical examination for healthy people
2. Examination for patients with hypertension and hyperlipidemia;
3. Follow-up examinations for the condition of diabetic patients, especially providing non-invasive, repeatable and highly sensitive examinations for the prevention and diagnosis of diabetes, offer a basis for diagnosis and care;
4. Screening of atherosclerosis in the extremities, postoperative reexamination, rehabilitation follow-up, etc. for patients with coronary heart disease;
5. Raynaud’s Syndrome
6. Occlusive vasculitis
7. Diagnosis of deep vein thrombosis in the lower extremities and diagnosis of varicose veins in the limbs. Arteriosclerosis
How to read an arteriosclerosis test report?
Vascular hardness (baPWV)
PWV is mainly a parameter for evaluating the elasticity of large blood vessels throughout the body. The larger the PWV value, the harder the blood vessels. When the arteries of the lower extremities are narrowed, the PWV value will be falsely reduced.
(2) Ankle/Upper Arm blood pressure Ratio (ABI)
ABI is mainly an indicator for evaluating the degree of vascular blockage from the waist down to the ankle.
The normal range of ABI is 0.9 to 1.4. If ABI is less than 0.9, it indicates vascular blockage of the artery (the ankle-brachial index of patients with intermittent claudication is mostly between 0.35 and 0.9, while that of patients with rest pain is often below 0.4), while a greater than 1.4 May suggest arteriosclerosis.
tips: Arteriosclerosis detection is the initial screening for vascular motility examination. If any abnormalities are found, further examination and treatment in the cardiology department are still necessary.
